The 16-mile loop trail encompasses Fairfield, Iowa and connects many of the area’s parks.

The 16-mile loop trail was constructed by the Jefferson County Trails Council with the support of the City of Fairfield and Jefferson County along with many community members and local businesses. Currently the south and west portion of the Loop Trail is maintained by Jefferson County Conservation. Our portion of the trail begins at Mint Blvd at the corner of Fillmore Ave and Park Street then travels south and west until Brookville Road, east of Whitham Woods. The north half is maintained by the City of Fairfield’s Parks and Recreation Department. The trail connects to many of our parks including Whitham Woods, Cedar Creek Timber & Wetland, Cedar View Trail, Jefferson County Park, and Neff Wetland.
