Toddler Time: What’s in the Creek?

Explore the great outdoors alongside your child! For this session of the monthly series we will be exploring what’s in the creek. We will be doing a short introduction before hiking through the creek. Please come dressed in water shoes or mud boots. This children’s nature program is geared for children who are 2-4 years old. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Toddler Time happens rain or shine, so be sure to dress for the weather!

This one-day camp will perpetuate Kyle Longerbeam’s dream by teaching the next generation of hunters, trappers, fishermen, and outdoor enthusiasts that your dreams are just one shot away. Enjoy the summer night sky! Naturalist Brittney Tiller will have a telescope on hand to see a few night sky objects up close. This is an open house style program where participants can arrive anytime between 9:00 and 10:00pm. We will have an alternative program at the Beach House Lodge in Lacey-Keosauqua if the skies are not clear. Whether you need to fine tune your skills or would like to try paddling for the first time, this is the program for you! This class, taught by a certified instructor, will help you learn the basics of kayaking and stand up paddleboarding. This two-day, one-night camp shows participants what unique outdoor recreation opportunities exist in Iowa. Participants will go spelunking at Maquoketa Caves State Park, camp out at Backbone State Park, and white-water kayak in Manchester.
